The four bedrooms - Brown Trout, Lapwing, Heron and Irish Hare are named for the wildlife found on the farm.

All the rooms are of generous proportion, elegantly styled and furnished for your comfort – the best beds, the best goose down duvets and the best organic cotton sheets and towels.

All rooms have en-suite showers and toilets. Brown Trout also has a bath and a sofa bed which is suitable for one adult or two small children.

Brown Trout and Heron have wood burning stoves

Lapwing has a super king size double bed that can be converted to two singles.

All rooms have flat screen TVs and look out over the traditional cottage garden- which is reserved for guests.

The Library - Relax in front of the wood burning stove and choose a book to read from the wide selection available, or possibly play a board game. Make yourself a cup of tea or coffee – or just nod off in front of the fire. Deliberately, there is no TV in The Library.

The original dining room now opens onto the Garden Room which is surrounded by the old walls of this most traditional of farmyards. In the cold months breakfast or dine in front of the wood burning stove. On a summer evening have a cup of tea or coffee and read the newspapers at a table on the lawn.

You really can relax at Ballylagan, secure in the knowledge that most of the energy used is from our own resources. The stoves burn wood from the farm and much of the electricity is generated by our water turbine and solar panels.
